I wanted to return this product to the dealer, which wasn't directly Amazon.com. Dealer never responded to my emails about the return.
The 2 had much better reception; I noticed immediately with the 4 that my reception was not consistent, sometimes I couldn't pick up reception at all, even though I was driving in the same areas as before. I won't be getting this unit again - extremely disappointed in how long the unit lasts. This was my second Starmate - the first was the Starmate 2. Also, neither one of these units lasted very long - they both only last about 18-24 months before they completely died.
Sirius rapes you on their prices and the signal cuts out anytime I pass under any sort of tree (with or without leaves), or anytime I'm in New York City and the tall buildings are near. I say go buy an iPod Touch or any smartphone and download the [.].
for this product, I say it's OK if you live in a wide open area, but if you live near trees, mountains, or buildings, I say don't bother. Its a better product and its FREE.
application. As for SIRIUS, I say they are a horrible company.
This works well, but the whole idea of having ANOTHER thing mounted on your window is getting a bit out of control. Unless you are in the wide open, this things cuts in and out of signal which makes it VERY annoying to try to listen to any program no matter how good or bad it is, and no matter how expensive it is just to listen to a radio.
I subscribed to SIRIUS for 5 years and they treated me like garbage (one lady even telling me to 'shut up'), constantly overcharged me, and constantly raising prices.
Once you get this you will want them in all of your cars. Great price and deal.
I hope this radio lasts longer than the last one which was just 14 months, so warranty had just ended. I also have a dock at home, so it gets some serious use. I enjoy satillite radio and have been a subscriber for over 2 years. I had the sportster 4 and used it all day, I take it in my vehicle then remove it and take into work for the day.
